Agents
While the Discover Connector is a single download, it deploys agent software specifically for each type of data source that you want the service to connect to. A single Connector can support multiple Agents.
In order for you to deploy or configure an Agent, you must own a license to the specific data source. There are several data sources available, many of which require specific configuration steps. The following list describes the Agents that Discover supports and, where applicable, contains links to more detailed configuration instructions:
Windows Files (typically network shares or user workstation hard drives)
PST Files
Exchange Mailbox/Archive (for Exchange 2013 or older)
EWS Mailbox/Archive (for Exchange 2016 or newer and Microsoft 365)
