New Features

Gimmal Records Core

Interface Improvements for Grids

Support for multi-column sorts and new operators for filtering (contains, starts with, etc.) has been added to text fields for the following grids:

  • Destruction Certificates

  • Disposed Records

  • Event Occurrences

  • Exceptions

  • Expired Records

  • Internal Lists

  • Legal Cases

  • Lifecycles

  • Managed Properties

  • Record Filters

  • Rejected Records

  • Retentions

  • Rule Sets

Updated Record Overview Page

The interface for the Records Overview page has been updated to improve usability, including consistent labels and links.

Other

This release also includes additional optimizations and security enhancements.

SharePoint Online Connector

New Method for Adding Sites for Registration

Improve efficiency and performance by allowing customers to add sites via their URLs. This feature allows customers with large numbers of sites to more efficiently add them for registration purposes. Up to 25 sites can be added at once.

Note: The Treeview method for adding sites has been removed.

Support for CNG Encryption

Add support for CNG (Cryptography Next Generation) format for managing cryptographic keys and certificates.

Note: CSP (Cryptographic Service Provider) encryption remains a supported

SharePoint Server Connector

Capture Empty Content Types

Gimmal Records will now capture content type fields/properties which have no value.

Now Token for Modified

A new SharePoint token called @sp.modified has been added to the property bag. This @sp.modified value will return SPBuiltInFieldId.Modified for SharePoint records.

Note: A full crawl will populate this value for existing records. Any newly modified file will be updated in an incremental crawl.

Support for SharePoint Subscription Edition

Gimmal Records now fully supports SharePoint Server Edition for use with the SharePoint Server Connector.

Workflow actions in the SharePoint Server Connector 6.2 are deprecated and are no longer supported.

Universal File Share Connector, Physical Records Management

Branding and components have been upgraded to bring it in line with Gimmal Records standards.

Upgrade Notes

  • Stop all connectors before upgrading the core service.

When upgrading, this is the minimum upgrade path:

For example:

  • All components (except UFSC): 4.7 > 5.0 > 5.2.5 > 6.0 > 6.2

  • UFSC only: 4.7 > 5.0 > 5.2.5 > 5.3 > 6.0 > 6.2
