October 2025 Release
The October 2025 release of Gimmal Discover is a maintenance release that includes the updates detailed below:
The code in the Settings area has been refactored. Previously, each tab in the Settings area was contained in one large page. This led to longer-than-normal page load times and restricted the ability to update the product settings. In this release, each Settings area is a separate page. The links to those pages have been relocated to the left-hand navigation pane instead of being shown as tabs across the top of the page. For more information, please refer to this page: Application Settings
As an added security check, any changes to the Discover settings area will now prompt the administrator to supply their password in order to save their updates.
As an added security check, resetting a user password will now prompt the administrator to supply their password in order to save the password change.
Issue Number | Description |
95499 | Corrected an issue that prevented a user account from being added when assigned a custom role |
96476 & 106928 | Updated the SharePoint agent to allow an ‘and’ operation when using multiple filters in a ‘process each list’ step (with limitations - see note below) |
103698 | Added an option to leave a text stub when using a move operation in the File Agent. |
105721 | Restored the option to save results of an eDiscovery collection in EML format. For this option to work properly, a full desktop version of Microsoft Outlook must be installed and activated on the machine where the Agent software is running. Online ‘click-to-run’ installs of Outlook do not include the necessary libraries to support EML. |
105722 | When running an eDiscovery search on email content and selecting the option to retrieve full text, the email sender and recipients are now returned along with the other message text. |
105720 | Corrected a problem that was preventing a Connector from being removed in the dashboard view when there were a large number of Connector entries. |
104175 | Corrected an error that was stopping the deletion of subsequent SharePoint files after an error occurred on an individual file. |
104375 | Corrected a problem that was causing Data Owners not to be removed from EWS mailbox targets |
104746 | Corrected an error that was preventing the Connector list from successfully being exported to CSV from the grid. |
106315 | Corrected a security issue that could potentially allow cross-site request forgery. |
106316 | Corrected a security issue that could potentially allow cross-site scripting. |
106318 | Addressed an issue related to the storage of files with potentially sensitive data under the Web Root folder. |
Notes for 96476 & 106928: The current SharePoint REST access method has limited support for multiple folder filtering options. For example, the folder filtering option to “Process non-matching items' is not supported by the Microsoft REST API for SharePoint.
This limitation can lead to unexpected results when attempting to combine folder filter conditions (refer to filter results in the graphic below).

Known Issues
Attempting to reset a user’s password when using single sign-on results in an error being displayed in the browser console, and the new password is not updated. However, when using the local login, the password reset works as expected. This issue will be corrected in the next release.
