Network Communications Prerequisites
This section details the network communications prerequisites for installing Gimmal Link.
Web Services
SAP server must have network access via the appropriate HTTP(S) port to the Gimmal Link server. If host headers are to be used to route traffic to the Gimmal Link server via hostname, SAP must have the necessary HOST entries added beforehand.
Typically, port 80 is used for HTTP and port 443 is used for HTTPS.
Connection Service
The following network ports are used with the Connection Service. Although the Connection Service supports bidirectional communication, it is more often used for communication from Document Service Modules residing on SharePoint (SSOM) or CloudGate (CSOM) to SAP.
- CPIC: 33xx
- RFC: 48xx
- SNC: 36xx
CSOM Remote Deployments
The following graphic explains the client-side object model (CSOM) remote deployment:
Security Certificates
To enable encrypted network communications, security certificates must be deployed when SSL is used between the SAP system and the ERP-Link CloudGate server (CSOM deployments) or between the SAP system and the SharePoint Web Front End server (SSOM deployments).
