Provisioning

Gimmal's Provisioning enables administrators to control how business users create SharePoint® sites and site collections on-premises and in the cloud with Office 365. The Provisioning Help consists of a Feature-Activated (FA) and a Provider-Hosted (PH) version. Click the folder for the desired environment to see the related configuration and user information.

Gimmal's Provisioning application is a no-code solution that enables administrators to control how business users create SharePoint® sites and site collections on-premises and in the cloud with SharePoint Online. Users can customize a new SharePoint site to add the functionality they need at the time of site provisioning, while still enforcing the libraries and content types required to enable consistent information management across the enterprise. This process is managed using Provisioning definitions. Provisioning definitions are a set of configurations options created by administrators that serve as a template for a site or site collection request by an end-user. Multiple Provisioning definitions can be stored for each site collection and/or site template.

Integration with Governance Hub

Provisioning is integrated with Gimmal's Governance Hub, which is a mandatory prerequisite for installing Provisioning. Governance Hub is a configuration management application that provides a single location to configure and manage installed Gimmal software such as Provisioning.

Governance Hub is a mandatory prerequisite for installing Provisioning. For more information on Governance Hub, see the Governance Hub section in this Help. For information on installing Governance Hub, see the Installing Governance Hub section in this Help.
