Governance Hub
The Content Governance for SharePoint components are integrated with Gimmal's Governance Hub, which is a mandatory prerequisite for installing the Content Governance for SharePoint components. Governance Hub is a configuration management application that provides a single location to configure and manage installed Gimmal software. For more information on Governance Hub, see the Feature-Activated or Provider-Hosted configuration sections included in the Governance Hub documentation. The following table illustrates the supported scenarios for how Governance Hub can manage your installed Gimmal components:
You must install and configure the Governance Hub component prior to configuring any of the remaining Content Governance components. For information on installing Governance Hub, see the Installation section of this Help.
Gimmal's Governance Hub is an enterprise-level configuration management application for Gimmal software. From this single location, customers can configure and manage Gimmal software installed in the following environments:
- SharePoint Online (Provider-Hosted)
- SharePoint 2013 (Provider-Hosted)
- SharePoint 2013 (Feature-Activated)
- SharePoint 2016 (Feature-Activated)
- SharePoint 2019 (Feature-Activated)
The Governance Hub provides a single location to manage installed Gimmal software. It offers the following major features:
- Central registry for Gimmal software products
- Centralized product configuration management
- Existing Gimmal product configuration support
This Help provides information on how to configure Governance Hub in the SharePoint 2013/2016/2019 or SharePoint Online environment. Help is available for both the Feature-Activated and Provider-Hosted versions of Content Governance for SharePoint. Each version has its own section.
Governance Hub does not currently support operating in an ADFS or mixed authentication environment.
