Validating SharePoint Online Connector Configuration (Modern Auth)

Verification and Testing

These steps should be performed (where applicable) after an update or new installation of the SharePoint Online Connector (SPOC).

Step 1: Verify Site Registration

  1. Navigate to Site Management in the SPOC web portal

  2. Confirm your previously registered sites appear in the list

  3. Verify the Site URL is correct

  4. Verify the Active? column has a check mark associated with your active sites

Step 2: Test Library Discovery

  1. Click the Crawled Libraries button for a selected site in the Site Management

  2. Click Add Library button

  3. Verify all expected document libraries are listed in the view

  4. Confirm that any configured overrides are displayed correctly

Step 3: Verify Connection in Gimmal Records

  1. Log into Gimmal Records as an Administrator

  2. Navigate to Monitor | Services

  3. Verify the SharePoint Online Connector heartbeat is Green.

Step 4: Verify Classification Results

  1. Add documents to a monitored site/library which match existing classification criteria

  2. Wait for background jobs to run and pick up the new documents (this may take some time)

  3. Open Gimmal Records Manager Web

  4. Navigate to a record class which should apply to the new documents you added in Step 1 (based on the classification criteria)

  5. Verify documents from SharePoint appear in the record class

  6. Check that properties of the documents to verify that metadata is correctly captured

  7. Confirm document links point to SharePoint
