V4.7 Release Notes
Release Date
February 2020
New Features/Changes
The following features/changes have been made to Records Management for this release.
Records Management (Core)
SQL Server 2016 or greater is now required to install on premises.
Windows Server 2008 SP2 and Windows Server 2008 R2 SP1 are no longer supported for on premises.
To help customers who have notifications to look more trustworthy and not like spam, we have added the Email Template feature to allow for custom subject, message body, signature, and logo to be used when the system sends out emails for approvals.
The Email notification frequency beginning date is now configurable, however, there is no user interface for making this change. Please contact support if you wish to change it from the default.
Universal File Share Connector
A new connector has been added to the Gimmal Records Management product line to provide better reliability for connecting to Network File Servers. The connector follows a new design called “static connector” that works differently from the current line of connectors.
There is only a full crawl, no incremental crawl is available.
A reconciliation service has been added to ensure that files on the servers stay in sync with records management.
When a managed file is deleted from the file server it will be removed from records management after the next full crawl and the reconciliation service have successfully completed.
When a managed file is moved from the file server it will be removed from records management after the next full crawl and the reconciliation service have successfully completed. The file, in its new managed location, will be recordized as a new record.
SharePoint Online Connector
The “Checked Out To” property will now be indexed into Gimmal Records Management. Custom reports can now use this field.
